The aim of the competition is to find talented young musicians, to help their music studies and to energize them.

We announce the competition in three categories:

Rules and regulations

General Conditions

The international piano competition will take place in Roma from 2-6 December 2019. The competition is open to pianists of all nationality. All music must be performed from memory. All stages of the competition are open to the public. The decisions of the jury are final, in case of differences of interpretation of the competition Regulations, the English text will be held as definitive.

The participants are not allowed to repeat any of the pieces that they already played in 1st  Round for the 2nd round.
The jury can interrupt the performance if the max. time limit has reached.
Regarding the repertoire of free choice: Participants are allowed to play single movements of pieces.
The Jury can decide to not award or to share prizes.
The program of the categories can be chosen freely.
We ask every participant to do not overrun the accepted time limit because it will cause points lose in every category.
The competition is opened, can be listened and watched by the audience.
The competitors will play in their name’s ABC order.
If a competitor arrives late, the jury will decide whether he can participate in the competition.
The competitors have to present their identity card or their passport to the jury. Also they have to give two copies of their played pieces to the jury.
The members of the jury are recognized Hungarian and foreign artists, professors.
The decisions of the jury are definitives and there is no place for complaining.
The jury can decide whether they do not give a prize in a category if the competitors perform in a low level.

Applicants for taken part in the PIANO PERFORMANCE AWARD 2019: No age limit

The age limit for the 2, 3 section 2019 is divide in 5 age categories:

Category A (up to 10 years)
Category B (11 - 14 years)
Category C (15 - 18 years)
Category D (19 - 22 years)
Category E (23 - no age limit)

Registration on Application form and please attach:

  1. Vocational CV or teacher recommendation,
  2. Copy of your ID,
  3. Copy of application fee proof of payment.  

Condtition of the apply:

  • Correct fill of the registration form
  • Documentation of the entry fee

All necessary documents for participation must be received on 10. November 2019 at the latest.

Each competitor is responsible for all costs that may be incurred by participation in the Competition.

A competitor may only alter his/her program for any stage of the Competition by informing the Competition Secretary of the change by 10. November, 2019.

No appeal shall be possible against decisions by the Jury or by the Competition Directors.

The Art Director Danubia Talents is sole holder of the rights to all video or audio recordings and Internet broadcasts in all stages of the Competition. Competitors cede to the Art director Danubia Talents, without remuneration, the rights to the following:

a) performances of works during the the whole Competition
b) performances of works during the concerts for participants and the final-concert
c) photographic and recorded images taken during participation in the Competition and the concerts.

These rights are unlimited in time and space for the following purposes:

  • recording
  • reproduction (all forms)
  • trading
  • placing on computer memory, internet or other networks
  • public play-back and performance
  • exhibiting
  • screening
  • renting
  • leasin
  • broadcasting by wired or wireless sound or vision by terrestrial or satellite stations
  • simultaneous and integral radio and television transmission and retransmission.

The exploitation of these rights in the ways set out above will be carried out by individuals, firms, radio and television stations and record labels authorized to do so by the Art Director Danubia Talents.

For reasons of competition planning the competitors are required to report in time.

All prize winners are obliged to take part in the Final Concert and to be present at the distribution of prizes. Should a prize winner not appear, he/she can lose the claim to prizes; on such matters the Management of the Competition shall decide.

All organizational decisions concerning the Competition remain the responsibility of the Competition Management. The Management reserves the right to make all final decisions in the event of any misunderstanding.

The application fee cannot be returned after application deadline.

In some cases foreign competitors will need visas. Applicants should consult the nearest  Embassy or Consulate for advice. The participants will get in official invitation letter, which they can use to apply the visa.

By sending the application form the participants declare that they approve the terms and conditions mentioned in the regulations.


Section 1: Piano Performance (no age limit):

1st round (max. 15 min.)
An Etude of Chopin, Liszt, Skrjabin, Rachmaninov or Debussy, Bartók, Ligeti, Saint-Säens
one or more works of free choice.

2nd round (max. 45 min.)
One pieces Wohltemperiertes Klavier by Bach
One Sonata 1. movement by Beethoven, Haydn or Mozart
One pieces by Liszt F.
one or more works of free choice

Section 2, 3.:

Category A ( up to 10 years) Playing time: 5 min
The Competition for Category A will take place in one round. The Program is free.

Category B (from 11 to 14 years) Playing time: 10 min.
The Competition for Category B will take place in one round. The Program is free.

Category C (from 15 to 18 years) Playing time: 15 min.
The Competition for Category C will take place in one round. The Program is free.

Category D (from 19 to 22 years) Playing time: 20 min.
The Competition for Category D will take place in one round. The Program is free.

Category E (from 23 to no age limit) Playing time: 25 min.
The Competition for Category E will take place in one round. The Program is free.


Awards (diploma and medal) can only be given at the gala concert or after the result announcement! We will not be able to mail (diploma and medal) after the competition!


1st Prize: 2000 € + concerts
2nd Prize: 700 € + concert
3rd Prize:  300 € + concert

€uro 1.000,00 will be delivered after the competition, €uro 1.000,00 will be distributed during the concerts as an expense reimbursement

€uro 350,00 will be delivered after the competition, €uro 350,00 will be distributed during the concerts as an expense reimbursement

A competitor chosen by the jury will be able to participate in the Danubia Talents International Piano Masterclass in 2020.

Honourable mention: (points 70-79) charter

It is obligatory to perform at the gala concert, and the prizes will be given there also.
The awarded competitors, who do not perform at the gala concert, will lose their prizes.
This concert will be recorded. Record is prohibited during competition time.
The organizers hold the right for themselves to change the rules if it will be necessary.
The organizers of the competition cannot be called to account for any accident and damage during the competition.
These rules are obligatory without any condition.
Every given datas will be handled privately, according to the updated laws.
